Fascinating Book on links between science and psi phenomena, 19 Aug 2011

Dr. Roney-Dougal is a British Ph.D. who began studying parapsychology early in her professional career, and who has many theories and ideas about the how's and why's of humans continuing to experience paranormal events, or psi. She explores the various types of events, from fairy and ghost sightings to UFO visitations, and opines as to why people have experienced these things, from our earliest evolution right up the present. She talks about the pineal gland and the body's natural cycles and other possible brain states that make us receptive (or receivers) to signals and the different vibrations of unseen/parallel worlds. Very interesting work and very timely, considering how many paranormal investigative TV shows are popular right now, and how we are seeing 21st century man's quest for understanding and incorporating scientific understanding into his spirituality.
I first saw this book in the library of the Chalice Well Inn in Glastonbury this summer, started to read it during my stay at the Inn, and had to leave it behind when it was time to go home to America. I specifically ordered this book from Amazon immediately when I got home to be able to finish it because it so firmly caught my attention and interest.
I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in intelligent discourse about paranormal phenomena!
