5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, evocative future fantasy roleplaying., 23 Nov 2001
Fading Suns is a roleplaying game set in a feudal society that spans the galaxy. Characters can be nobles, priests, merchants - all the usual fantasy/feudal types - though their adventures will take them across the void of space and they will encounter wierd alien races, occultist and demons.

The general feel is very much like a passion play - very emotive and moving with a meaning of great import - the characters and plot are very in depth and provide for some very interesting roleplaying opportunities. This game is very well supported on the web, for such a relatively new title. and a number of supplements are available, all of excellent quslity.

For those thinking of upgrading from 1st edition, the changes are very subtle, but they are there. The main difference, though is in the layout and presentation of the book. The hardcover is seems sturdy as well as aethetically pleasing and overall I would say it is worth upgrading from 1st edition, but only if you can afford it.

For those new to this game - why the hell haven't you bought it yet - its one of the best games available...
