The book contains some very lucid explanations of some important fundamental concepts.
Unfortunately, it also contains some annoying factual errors.
On page 27 we are told that the speed of sound in air changes with varying atmospheric pressure. This is NOT the case. Sound speed in an ideal gas such as air is totally independent of pressure. It only depends on the Temperature, the Average Molecular Weight and the Adiabatic Index (1.4 for air). The mistake is repeated on page 29.
On p. 158 we are told that the force between two protons doubles as the distance between them is halved. Coulomb's Law tells us that the force is inversely proportional to the SQUARE of the distance and therefore quadruples as the distance is halved.
Top marks for Heat and Light but could do better in Sound and Electricity.
