I DID NOT BUY THIS THROUGH AMAZON, BUT ON IMPULSE FROM TKM AT A FRACTION OF THIS PRICE.
The two 5* reviews for this gadget really have me scratching my head
Chopping garlic cloves is one of my least favourite prep tasks, I've had a traditional press, but found results disappointing and cleaning it took an age. I liked the look of this little "grater", but had my reservations, the thing I thought might happen DID. The garlic stays stuck between the ceramic teeth/pins which are quite sharp or "pointy"so as the clove gets smaller your finger tips are making contact with these. I attempted to dislodge the garlic mush using a knife, spoon, tiny spatula - no luck.
It might do an ok job with ginger, but I use it less often, garlic I use most days.
It did clean very easily however, quick plunge in the basin & run under the tap, job done!
I've watched demos at the Good Food show, where the demonstrators have buckets full of garlic, onions whatever to demonstrate their chopping gadget, they can make a rubbish product look quite good. If I'd used a whole bulb, I may have produced enough garlic pulp, but I only wanted to use two cloves.
