OK for little ones... not for me,
By Mehajabeen Farid "mej_farid" (Coventry) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Faces (Picture Puffin) (Paperback)
Although the book is called `Faces' it really about your feelings; the pictures show your face looks when you are feeling it, like jealous, angry, tired and cheeky. Don't forget shy, ill, happy, and scared.
Combining simple text with bold, colourful illustrations, this classic book is ideal for introducing nursery children to the concept of emotions. Jan Pienkowski, the author of world famous, best selling books, Meg and Mog, has now written this wonderful book. He made his first book when he was 8, as a present for his father. He worked in advertising, publishing, and doing graphics for the BBC children's TV series Watch! In his spare time, he started to illustrate books for children. His lifelong interest in stage design landed other commissions: two shows for Theatre de Complicite, then Beauty and the Beast for The Royal Ballet, Covent Garden and a spectacular Sleeping Beauty at Disneyland, Paris.

my 1 year old loves this book,
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Pienski III- Faces (Nursery Board Books) (Board book)
This is a simple book of colorful illustrations of different emotions (angry, sad, happy, cheeky) with faces on the left side and an illustration of the emotion on the right side (example: jealous, a child bangs on a pot while his mother coos over a new baby). I bought this two days ago and must have read it about 45 times, on demand.

Faces helps identify feelings,
By Nancy Frazier,CSW - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Pienski III- Faces (Nursery Board Books) (Board book)
I am a practicing clinical social worker and my work is primarily with children. I have used Faces for the past twelve years. I find it a great way to open a discussion about different feelings and a good introduction to teaching children how to name their feelings. Kids of all ages (I see ages 3-18) identify with the illustrations. Adults often pick up this book, too when I leave it out. Because it's a kids book, it's non-threatening. I saw my first Faces book in the checkout line at a grocery store. Today I'll order my 20th copy...they are well made but eventually wear out. In my practice, this is a well used book! 6 of 9 people found the following review helpful:

it's her favourite,

This book teaches about different emotions, you can also talk with your child about details of the pictures and the gestures that characterize specific emotion. The size of the book is also convenient - you can carry it in the pocket and use it whenever necessary. I wish the illustrations were a little better.
