Most Helpful Customer Reviews

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful By H. Davis on 18 Nov. 2008
Format: Audio CD
Eddy Louiss plays the electric organ and Richard Galliano the accordion. Such instruments aren't unique in jazz, but this album - 'Face to Face' -demonstrates two special things: that these two blend together as jazzmen unrivalled in their instrumental expertise; and that out of the French scene come two uniquely world-beating musicians.

I've listened to this CD many times, and can always find something breathtakingly new in their improvisational skills. It's as though each was born to play his uncommon instrument and to demonstrate a musical fluency that's rare in any genre.

Oh, and the tunes are great too.

I hope they collaborate again.
