I bought this book because we had 'The Loon on the Moon' and we loved it. The illustrations were so beautiful and special that they made me look up Emily Golden and there I found the new book from the same pair of author/illustrator.'The Fabulous Flapdoodles' is a sweet story about the...well, fabulous flapdoodles, small but very strong creatures that come out when the children are asleep to protect them from all the scary monsters from under the bed. Chae Strathie's story doesn't disappoint and again, the illustrations are very very good, dynamic, funny and imaginative. In my opinion, the book works well for both boys and girls, just like 'The Loon on the Moon'.
