This is a great product, currently on a fashion course so it's just what I needed. I was waiting for someone to bring out a book explaining fabrics with swatches so you could learn the textures and qualities of different fabrics and I finally found one!
If you want to learn about fabrics this book is fab.

Would be particularly useful for textile students - covers natural fabrics versus man made. Explains the process of manufacture of each type very well. A bit bland to look at, because they have opted to sample the natural predyed version of fabrics, but very helpful to demonstrate a type of fabric. Good size samples. Would have liked envelope type pages at the back to add in your own fabrics that are not covered, to build an even larger resource. Great buy at the Amazon price.

This is a great book. Really helpful as you can see and feel the fabrics, which helps to understand their uses and difference.

I've been sewing a while but always struggle with not knowing about different fabrics and how they look and feel. This book is great because I've learned so much about different fabrics and it's much easier now to decide what to use for different garments.

I bought this for my daughter as we looked for something like this during her years at University but had failed to find anything, not even the university had anything. It is so important to be able to feel a fabric to be able to understand its texture and know what it can be used for, this does exactly that. I definite for anyone studying Textiles for Fashion.

This book is great, has loads of fabric swatches and really helped me with a project of mine. I recommend if like, myself you are taking a fashion course or even if you're just a person who likes working with fabric then this is a good book to have in your collection.

Bought this for someone taking up making their own clothes. They said it was very helpful as a reference guide when selecting material to order and - especially for a beginner - helped her understand what the different fabrics feel and look like.

A good swatch book and some good references but colourless. I would recommend this book only if you want to know or want more knowledge about the properties of fabrics.
