If you're still reading this book then I can only guess you're as big a fan as I am. After the inevitable lull that came after the fall of the empire this book really seems to pick up the pace again. As always the book likes to throw us a curve ball and just when I was expecting it to be all about Mr Dark and the battle with Frau Totenkinder it meanders off it into a really great story about Red Rose and Snow white and the reason for the anomisty between them. Once that's done the action moves towards the 100th issue of the title with the aforementioned battle, but not before you see resolution of everything that's been going on at the farm, the birth of a new fable and the the brilliant meeting between Mr Dark and the North wind. The latter being one of the bizzare yet fantastic momenets that makes Fables one of the best on going titles at the moment. The battle, when it does come is beautiful to read with a lovely depiction of what a bit of magical fisty cuffs should look like.
Overall I think this is the best book since the end of the empire storyline and the inclusion of all the extra bits that they put in with the 100th issue (a board game, some sketches, and a cut out theatre complete with characters and back drops)is a nice touch, although I'm far to much of a geek to deface the book by cutting them out. Bill Willingham continues to write a world of stories which thrills, entertains, and makes me feel like i'm five years old reading my fairy tales books.
