Book Description

Fables of Fabulous Animals describes the noticeably human affairs of family pets and other animals. Quite like Aesop’s Fables, each contains a moral, or at least, what passes for a moral. One or two of the Fables are rather poignant, but mostly the atmosphere is light, playful and pleasantly quaint.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great read for both children and adults 2 Dec. 2011
By Andrew
A well written collection of short stories from the world of animals and imagination that makes ideal bedtime reading for the very young as well as providing interesting and uplifting subject matter for early readers. I particularly enjoyed the tale of the dishevelled chinchilla, who let himself go rather badly, before the fortuitous intervention of a good woman helps him turn things around. He tidies up and...... well, I won't give away the ending, but there are presently 5 more chinchillas in the world. We use this book on the Kindle to read to a 3 year old at bedtime where it has quickly become the nightime favourite.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous for kids and adults! 3 Dec. 2011
It's not easy to find books that kids and adults can enjoy. In this respect, Stapley's books ranks with "The Phantom Tollbooth" and "Winnie the Pooh. These loquacious animals don't make small talk! They get right to the point of existential questions of morality in a way that will make kids giggle and adults smile. Buy this book if you have, or ever were a kid.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wise tales 3 Dec. 2011
A very special book that contains simple and well written stories for children that will keep them entertained and going back for another reading night after night. Some wise animal insights and I enjoyed the delicate drawings. The language is simple but not childish....definitely a one for the Kindle - and for those who don't know you can download Kindle onto your Mac. You should also listen to some of Stephen Stapley's songs, a strong and moving voice.
