Fable™ Heroes, available May 2, 2012, on Xbox Live Arcade, gathers a range of heroes and villains from across the epic videogame saga—and the Fable™ companion eBook series delves even deeper into their greatest triumphs, darkest secrets, and never-before-seen origins.

In a small village, an innocent girl is tormented by disturbing hallucinations and violent headaches. Like Theresa, the girl is a seer, but one whose powers will lead to madness and death. Theresa has seen the girl’s fate in a shocking vision. Refusing to accept what appears to be certain, Theresa resolves to find the mythical cure for second sight. But she needs help. Unfortunately, in a town where heroes are few and far between, Theresa is left with Elijah Stane, a drunken wretch up for one last great adventure. On a journey rife with peril, Fable’s™ most powerful seer discovers that altering fate is no easy task. And the choices Theresa must make will haunt her . . . perhaps to the grave.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected 2 Jun 2013

I absolutely love the Fable series and the lore and I've always been curious to know more about Theresa's story, and after reading Jack of Blades I was hoping to get another brilliant short story, however it seems this book didn't give me what I had hoped for, it's just basically a mini side story involving Theresa, she does reminisce a little about her past but this doesn't add much to the story.

Theresa's character has always intrigued me as I have always wondered what her motives were and what she has been up to for all the years following the first Fable game, I was even more intrigued to know why she wanted the spire for herself in Fable 2 and so I was hoping this book was going to give me some insight, however it just left me disappointed as it hadn't mentioned any of these things, I guess I just got my hopes up too much.

5.0 out of 5 stars From a Fable fan 5 April 2013

Very enjoyable to read, I could hear the voice of Zoe Wanamaker! Although a short story, it gives a clear glimpse into the workings of Theresa. Highly recommend for any Fable fan, or avid fantasy readers.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not too bad 4 Feb 2013

Was a good short story but I thought it was going to be a story about the history of Theresa's life which it wasn't, we are given a short reminder of how she became blind but that is as much history as we get.

5.0 out of 5 stars What future do you see? 20 Jun 2012

Theresa has always been a favorite character of mine from the original Fable game. After having read, and enjoyed, Peter David's short story about Jack of Blades I was eagerly awaiting this one's release. It did not disappoint.

Theresa has been drawn to a town with a small girl suffering from a surprising ailment - she is also a seer. However Theresa sees the sad fate that the girl will not survive her growing powers much longer. There is a slim possibility of finding a cure, but the journey isn't likely to be pleasant, and certainly won't be easy.

From vivid descriptions that give great connection to how the blind Theresa observes the world so well to the benefits and drawbacks to pieces of her gift, Peter David really brings the character to life over the course of this adventure. The story itself is nicely layered, particularly for the length, and engaging throughout, in no small part due to Theresa's default bodyguard Elijah Stane and his own intriguing story arc.

A great revisit to the world of Albion that adds some nice depth to an established character and examines some of the limits and strengths of "seeing" to great effect.

Highly recommended.

I hoped to learn about my favourite fable character as much mystery surrounds her but sadly I get a story more about an old hero...

It was a good game, and hearing some more of the stories of the people in it was fascinating! I would recommend Peter David to anyone, and this is another great example of why.
