First of all I have to say this is the best jewelry photography I've ever seen. The book is perfect in every way. The text is informative and bring new details of these baubles. The repair and preservation section is a surprise as we take these treasures for granted. A must for any serious Faberge follower

An amazing book detailing the stunning creations of Faberge. The book is illustrated with hundreds of beautiful clear photos revealing the artistic details of each piece.
The text is highly informative and very accessible for the professional and casual reader alike. It details the history of Faberge set against the social background prevailing during his times along with addressing the contributions of his contemporary jewelry designers.
The chapter about differentiating real from fake Faberge is also interesting and very useful especially for collectors.
All in all a highly recommended book for all fans of fine jewelry.

This is absolutely the best book out on the unbelievable story of Faberge. The descriptions, pictorials and history are unique, and a must have for any Faberge enthusiast. You see Faberge's genius as a superior craftsman, manager, director and business man displayed all in one place. The photographs of the Faberge masterpieces are unbelievably graphic and exquisitely beautiful. It is like having the Eggs (The Real Eggs) in your home. A tremendous value for the money.

Wonderful Book 30 Jan 2013
By CAMIRE - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
After visiting the display of Faberge, at the Detroit Institute of Arts, I noticed this book for sale in the gift shop. This book documents all of the Faberge items in the Virginia Museum's collection and gives a fascinating history of Faberge and how the items were sold and transferred before arriving in the United States. The photography is top notch--as is the writing! Perhaps the best book on Faberge out there. Worth every penny!

Is it really Faberge? 19 Mar 2013
By Dr. Peter Slowen - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
This book helps determine if an object is really Faberge. (There are so many, many fakes.) This book gives easy to follow guidelines. The objects are simply magnificent. Reading this book is a real adventure. The examples of fakes are very clear. This book helped me as I was envisioning a purchase which happily I did not make.
