Does work but be careful 20 May 2011

I purchased this cable as I replacement for a 2.5inch USB hard drive as the original cable got lost. Unfortunately although it did power the device I couldn't for the life of me get any data from it and it displayed the drive as being unformatted. I contacted the seller who was TheAVSeller and they have told me that the drives I have might require very high quailty cables or special ones that require extra power. Although the markings on all of the cables state the same voltage and characteristics.

I tried the new cable with a powered 3.5inch enclosure and it does work with that.

So it would seem that the ones provided in this case are not high quality enough to be used on 2.5inch USB powered enclosures but will do self powered devices. Be wary of this when buying.

Although I bought the wring product thinking that this would allow me to transfer information between computer and laptop, The delivery was excellent and the condition was good.

Great! No problems so far! The length is long enough and IT WORKS!!! I use this to connect my laptop to other appliances around the house and it is robust and reliable. Definately worth �4!
