Product Description

Letters in Italics (cursive) font. Tappits cutter for making lower case letters, from a to z. The letters measure between 1 and 1,5 cm in height. This is best used when combined with the upper case set. The set consists of 2 rulers and English instructions.

These cutters work best if you knead the marzipan or fondant (mixed with some tylose) well and then roll them out very thinly. Then press the desired letter or number down on the paste and tap it out of the cutter.

I found this very difficult to use. The sugar paste kept sticking inside. Very difficult to release the letters in one peice.

I had already bought the uppercase set so knew what to expect. With the right gumpaste/flowerpaste they work very well.

These were far too fiddly and time-consuming to use - letters got stuck, broke off, sometimes half of the letter would be stuck in the cutter. I tried all the tips shown on this site but when you are making several cakes you don't have time to pick the fondant out of the stencil every time. Rolling the icing so thin made the problem even worse as it was too flimsy and just broke. I should have remembered my old nan's advice by cheap, by twice. I threw them in the bin. My advice is spend the extra if you want good results.
