5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for fitting through windows! 24 Mar 2011

Very easy way to create a Gigabit backbone in a house - as it fits under carpet or even through closed window openings to feed cables outside. Highly recommended for those who can't drill holes in their walls and floors to feed cables through the house!

5.0 out of 5 stars Saving over 50 23 Aug 2011
By Geoff
I bought this cable to connect my Sony Bravia KDL32EX403U 32-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p LCD Internet TV with Freeview HDto my BT Home Hub. The only other option being the wireless connection marketed by Sony at over 60. It works just fine and is not visible at all and provides exactly the same connection, if not better than the wireless version. The Home Hub sits on top of my computer desk and so the wire goes down behind the desk, under the carpet and emerges from the carpet on the other side of the room right behind the TV. Excellent, full internet connectivity at a fraction of the cost demanded by Sony. It took about 15 minutes to put in place and worked first time with no worries about signal strength or interference.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's a wire! 16 Mar 2014
By Adam

So I bought this wire to connect my Xbox 360 to our router, but I needed a wire. But what sort of wire I hear you say! Well, that would be a wire which could run through 10m of distance, as well as allow me to close my door without having to remove the wire from said doorway. And guess what! This product could do that! I am therefore very impressed with the wire, and so far I have encountered no issues with it. The most remarkable thing about this product though is it's arrival. It comes coiled up in a way that I think could only have been done by coil elves. I would never be able to replicate this coiling, so doff my cap to the elf that did it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Ideal for hiding under carpets 13 May 2012
By Andy_atGC TOP 100 REVIEWER VINE VOICE
The problem with standard Ethernet cables is that they are relatively thick and not suited to run across open space. A flat cable may be almost unobtrusive if run under a rug or carpet and it could also be run along a dado rail and be almost invisible. If you do that, you will need a slightly longer length than for a direct A-to-B connection and this may be just right. It could be held in place with double-sided tape or adhesive pads.

I bought one similar for use in an executive office and paid in excess of 50. At this price, it is a bargain.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product 7 Aug 2011
Verified Purchase
Had been wondering for a while how I was going to replace my flaky wifi connection between my PC and the router with a wired one when I accidentally came across these flat Cat5e cables. Have to say it's perfect for running under the carpet across a doorway with not a carpet bulge/hump in sight. As for performance, let's just say my 20Mbps Virgin line is running at full speed!

Overall, a great product if you need to run network cable across a doorway.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works fine but a little rigid 23 Mar 2011
By NSG

It works fine as an ethernet cable, however I paid extra for this product over a normal profile cat5cable so that it could be hidden along a skirting board and around the back of furniture. As such its only partly successful as the plastic covering the cable is quite rigid and this makes it difficult to lay alonga flat surface and then bend around a courner. If you don't need the flat profile a normal ethernet cable may prove easier to install and more cost effective, however if you want a cat5 cable to lay under carpet its ideal

5.0 out of 5 stars 10m Flat Ethernet Cable 6 Oct 2012
I ordered two cables and they came very quickly indeed. The cables were well packaged too. Although I bought the cables on price they are well made and seem to be very well protected.

As these are flat cables do bear in mind that they cannot be bent or routed in any direction. Lengthways they are flexible enough for routing round all but the most acute corners but there is no flexibility at all crossways due to the high level of protection on the cable itself.

In this case a good price has not resulted in an inferior product. I am very happy with these leads and they perform very well. I have no negative comments to make at all and am very happy with my purchase.
