EA SPORTS FIFA 06: Road to FIFA World Cup immerses players into the emotional intensity of next generation football. Utilizing the power of the Xbox 360, fans will be able to revel in the world's most sophisticated representation of football.

Experience a newly enhanced gameplay engine that delivers extremely responsive controls and greater level of depth. New physics and animations mean that players will now react more realistically to every tackle, shot or pass of the ball.

For the first time you'll see and feel the joy, anguish and pain of 90 minutes of football in a videogame. Through the power of HD technology the detail of the players is now accurately recreated in fine detail. Examine the threads in the club badge or watch as sweat runs down the player's face during a match.

Stadiums now burst with life and atmosphere. Allnew 3D crowds pack the stands singing authentic anthems sampled from real matches. The edge of the pitch will now also include team coaches pacing the touchline plus the full preparation for every substitution and even the referee's assistants tracking the action as the match unfolds.

Team formations and strategic decisions are now managed on-the-fly during the match using a newly designed interface. An innovative, integrated menu system means you no longer have to interrupt the flow of the game to make substitutions or change tactics.

Take part in the European Qualification rounds for the World Cup or create your own tournaments to showcase all the new improvements. FIFA 06: Road to FIFA World Cup gives you the opportunity to admire the detail of 72 teams, 1,700 players in nine different stadiums from Europe and the rest of the world. Bad???? NO WAY!!!! 6 Jan 2006
This game isn't bad at all!

The improvements here in graphics are huge and the gameplay runs so much more smoothly than previous versions. For those of you that don't know this only has international teams, if you want to have club teams don't bother buying it because they aren't here. This doesn't mean its a dissapiontment though the player models are so realistic and gameplay is as good as ever. It may not have the depth of pro evo but it is still has addictive gameplay and its great to play with friends.

Overall the game is fast flowing and easy to play which makes it fun and for the first football game on the 360 it does the job in the lead up for the world cup. If this is below par as people have said then it can only get better and better and i can't wait for fifa 07.

Having played all the FIFA games on the original XBox I was looking forward to seeing how much better the FIFA series would be on the more advanced XBox 360. Well this is the first of them and was made especially for the release date of the 360. Unfortunately, for this reason the game was rushed and so is not a lot different to FIFA 06 on the XBox.

Graphically it's much better, although sometimes the extra shadows all over the pitch make it harder to see where players are etc. The gameplay is basically the same as FIFA 06.

You can only take charge of international teams and for the main "road to world cup" mode you can only choose international teams from Europe. In this mode not only do you get to play qualifiers but also a friendlies and a couple of cup tournaments with nice looking trophies.

Unlockables include classic kits, like England 1990 and 1966, and different footballs.

Online the stats are much worse than on FIFA 06. You can only see your rank, you can't see the recent games you have played and your scores. This is disappointing.

Also the commentary is very limited. You get the feeling that this is just the beginnings of the commentary which will be used in the FIFA world cup game released later.

So, in summary, this is a rushed game and is basically FIFA 06 with less modes. I think the real next generation FIFAs will begin with the release of FIFA 07.

When you first start playing fifa 06 you think wow look at the graphics and you start a road to fifa world cup. It starts off good too you have to play the actual teams that were in englands qualifying group and play a few small tournaments which fifa have added but then after you've qualified theres nothing to do theres no actual fifa world cup i've heard that fifa are making another game for that theres no club teams or any other seasons to complete i'm hoping that when i get xbox live it'll pick up because ill be playing people across the world but until then what a rip off the games too short
