My main problem with this:- is the presentation and volume of extras, though that isn't to say that what's here isn't any good. My career of listening to Fates Warning has been a long one; and they are, (to these ears), one of the finest prog metal bands ever to capture my attension. I guess that when this was released in 2007, it naturally co-insided with a 20 year anniversary of truly being in the prog business, 20 years of Ray Alder at the helm, and a music career stretching back over 10 studio albums and 25 years.

There's seven promotional MTV videos on here, *Silent Cries, Anarchy Divine, Through Different Eyes, Point Of View, Eye to Eye, Monument and A Pleasant Shade Of Gray. Five live performed tracks in which two are from the dynamo. A two show from '89 somehwere and a background look of Fates Warning's 2000 studio effort "Disconnected" which lasts approx 21 minutes. The second disc of this 2disc set is pretty poorly utilsed -some of the live material is repeated just to make it look more chunky:- when what was really needed was a little more thought into a structured double CD set.

Much of this material is, (on the face of it) just a standard collection of bits and pieces, which in all honesty will probably be of most benefit to the big FW fan. If you're looking for a complete live show of Fates Warning then I'd recommend a look at the "Live in Athens" DVD, which was filmed around 2005 and the FWX tours. Ultimately, I wasn't blown away by the piece, just intrigued with many of the raw footage, bits and pieces, and things that I haven't really been able to see previously. Unless found on the cheap, and a Fates Warning completist, this really doesn't merit a serious purchase.

Needs more... 26 May 2003

When I ordered this DVD I expected more behind the scenes on recording of their albums and more live concert footage but I was very much disappointed. Granted there are a number of music videos but I was hoping for more. There is a few behind the scene footage and some (very little) live footage but it just leaves wanting more. Maybe, hopefully they will have another DVD out soon with more I and more than likely other fans expect to see.

A must have for Fates Warning fans 23 May 2003

If you are a fan of Fates Warning, you can't live without this DVD. The MTV videos are cool, but the best part of the DVD is the bootleg videos and the footage of the band in the studio for Parallels and Disconnected and the interviews with Frank Aresti and Joe DiBiasi. If only they would have included some old John Arch-era bootlegs...

The Bootleg from Greece extra... 31 Aug. 2003

Wow...In the extras menu there is a bootleg of The Eleventh Hour. Even though the sound isn't that great you can sure feel the vibe. The whole crowd sings through out the whole song. It is awesome. If only crowds would get into bands like this here we would be able to see them more often. This DVD is really good for what it is. If you are a Fates Warning fan you'll love it. I think everyone should go out and buy this...and all their other stuff.

almost perfect 15 May 2003

I wish this band much like, Dream Theater had someone who really cared about promoting these bands. This DVD is awesome!!!! The only reason it is getting 4 stars is the lack of wide screen and surround sound quality. I love watching those old videos, that you never get on MTV becasue they are too busy showing teenager dance video....If you even think for a moment you can make this show GO you will not regret it. Enjoy this DVD with your friends, get the word out, this band is incredible!...

This band is so good that you can't dislike this DVD. I have never seen these videos before but had heard all the songs. These videos are tasteful and powerful. The live from Athens video is also a DVD worth having. Great Band!
