Starts off LOVELY with Giorgio Moroder's From Here To Infinity and then Metro Area's plain gorgeous 80's and violin's track Caught up is melted over the dream Moroder vocals ... from here on some deep gallic flavour from I:Cube comes in and, Black Lodge from the Mo Wax stable takes things a little Mr Oizo. Morgan Geist and Chicken Lips are the highlight of this new house/80's hybrid sounds that floats around, plus we get some authentic 80's rap cheese in the form of Whodini - Magic's Wand. Fila Brazillia comes in as a new direction is called for in the mix, although I'm a little dubious at the way The New Cannonball has been sped up to fit the house tempos. Mr Scruff, Jolly Music and Bent themselves feature in the final funky mix, some authentic disco from Jean Carn also makes an appearence.
Lovely mix ... the LIVE series has been doing the business for me recently, although looking forward to The Amalgamation Of Soundz taking up the decks for Fabric11 (its a bit needed, the Swayzak and Doc Martin offerings were alright, but nothing to write home about ... especially after following up consistant excellent mix after mix so far to date). GOOD SHOW ... chin chin, perhaps one of the best FabricLIVE's to have come so far. Mixing is functional, spot on without being mindblowing, then again, being a moody DJ type I'm the only person who would really notice that.
Still, looking for a bit of grit now, hoping that Bill Brewster, Tom Middleton or Lee Burridge might take up the decks for one of these soon.
