First off... this Laptop is not for the General or Business user - General users will find it difficult to justify the spend and business users will hate the battery life.
But for Gamers & Media buffs it ticks all the boxes - after you take a while to figure out how to use all the funky features - particularly the Glasses Free 3D.
I've used the Blu-ray burner to burn video I recorded on my HD camcorder - the results looked fantastic when played back with Blu-ray player on a 48" HD TV - the big plus is the fact that rewritable Blu-ray disks can hold so much memory - This laptop can bun up to 100GB on to certain Blu-ray disks.
Now for the Glasses Free 3D. Which was for me the main reason why I bought this machine. I took me a while to figure out how to use the 3D features - lots of searching on-line etc but once I got it the results were great - with the added benefit of making my friends green with envy.
It can also render ordinary DVD's onto 3D (but not Blu-ray). Watching old War and Western movies in 3D is quite surreal at times but I love it.
As for Games - it can pretty much handle anything but the real fun begins when playing Games in 3D - I've managed to get Civilization V, Halo 1, Medal of Honour (Allied Assault) and GTA Episodes from Liberty City all playing in 3D. The effect varies - so far GTA was the best.
One other point on the 3D - not everyone can see the effect. A brother of mine cant see it and likened the experience to being not able to see those pictures in news papers where if you look at the image a different way the picture changes totally.. not sure if that makes sense. There was one other person who had the same problem but everyone else can see it but initially it takes a little effort to focus on the image properly.
Other points - Loved the addition of a Number Keypad in the Keyboard, but would have liked to have had a backlit keyboard for a machine of this spec. The addition of a HDMI out port is really useful (this wont translate the 3D feature to a TV). The Speakers are quite good and all I need from a laptop but it's not going to let me get the best out of Mozart - Anyway I tend to use a good set of headphones. Oh - and you need to like RED - as far as i know it doesn't come in any other colour
Overall - for me is was a perfect buy, but that won't mean it's perfect for everyone
