Product Description

Some said that the 2008 FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP couldn't be topped...how wrong they were. From the season opener in Albert Park to the first twilight race at the new Yas Marina circuit of Abu Dhabi, the 2009 season had it all. A new set of regulations would rock the established order, while a new team would storm to two world titles in their debut season.

Jenson Button dominated the early part of the season, taking six wins from the first seven races. After recording Red Bull Racing's first victory, Sebastian Vettel emerged as Button chief rival. However, the biggest threat would come from across the Brawn GP garage. The veteran of the sport, Rubens Barrichello took up the challenge of taking on Button in the race for the title. Mark Webber finally broke through into the ranks of Grand Prix winners with sterling performances at the Nurburgring and Interlagos, while Kimi Raikkonen and Lewis Hamilton brought Scuderia Ferrari and Vodafone McLaren Mercedes back to winning ways after a turbluent starts to the season.

Featuring full 5.1 Digital Dolby Digital Surround Sound and exclusive features with Brawn GP, BMW Sauber and Panasonic Toyota Racing, it's the perfect gift for Christmas.

3.0 out of 5 stars Dissapointed - if only the BBC did the review..., 18 Jan 2010
By
It's not bad, but it certainly isn't good. A very "flat" review of the season. The commentator is the same guy that does BTCC on TV (where he is good alongside Tim Harvey), but he is reading what is a poor script that seems as if it has been translated across several languages with the same grammar.

The on screen graphics are pretty non-existant, like where the spring falls off Barrichellos car, or where they are explaining the double defuser (unlike the BBC who did this well) which means if you don't know what you should be looking the commentary is pretty pointless... picky, but for the price, and the powers behind this DVD, the production budget was obviously small.

They give qualifying no coverage.

More imagination needed - 3 is a fair judgement, they should be producing 5's

5.0 out of 5 stars Best F1 Review yet, 31 Dec 2009

(REAL NAME)
This seasons review packs the best F1 season for many years into over 4 1/2 hrs over 2 discs. There is plenty of onboard footage as a seperate extras package, and even the option of watching each race without commentary. There is also an extended piece on the "lie gate" affair, with pit to driver conversations with Lewis and his team proving they did lie to the FIA. Felipe's accident is also given extra coverage. All in all this is a must have for all F1 fans to add to their collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous, 14 Nov 2011
By
Bilbo Baggins (Stratford-upon-Avon) - See all my reviews
The DVD follows the usual FIA sanctioned F1 Season Reviews.
Perhaps not as much detail on each race as you got in earlier F1 reviews - but there are more races to get through.
Brought back all the agonising delays that Jenson endured in trying to wrap up the seasons Drivers Championship
A great way to fill a long dark evening for true F1 addicts
