Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

You aren't a soldier. You are a weapon. A paramilitary force infiltrates a multi billion dollar aerospace compound taking hostages, but issuing no demands. The government responds by sending in its best special operations teams, only to have them obliterated. Live footage of the massacre is cut short by an unexpected wave of destruction that leaves military leaders stunned and in disbelief.

With U.S. Special Forces in over their heads, the Commander in Chief turns to his final option: you. You've been trained to handle the inexplicable, armed with experimental high tech weaponry, and given full executive authority to end the crisis by any means necessary.

F.E.A.R. Extraction Point
The F.E.A.R. Expansion begins where F.E.A.R. left off. The game starts immediately after the player's escape helicopter crashes as a result of the blast that signified the end of F.E.A.R. With new weapons and new grenades, the player will have to fight off some familiar foes as well as some new ones. The expansion will continue to build upon the close quarter combat and paranormal horror moments that made F.E.A.R. what it is.

Fun:
If you're a fan of FPS titles, you should own this. FEAR is considerably superior to most other FPS titles, and is up there with Far Cry, Half Life 2, and much, much better than Doom3. FEAR's 3D-engine is still a heavyweight despite its relative age, and it generates incredibly immersive situations from creepy moments of suspense to fast-paced and visceral, gory action. Like Doom3, this game has a horror-thriller plot, with the twist that it's actually quite un-nerving at times - play in a dim room, with some headphones, and you'll jump more than once playing this.

FEAR has been criticised somewhat for a large part of its action taking place inside the "bland" surroundings of an office block, and I think this is a little unfair; it's consistent with the plot as it's revealed, and the setting makes room for a lot of shattering glass and furniture to hide behind (the PC version, despite being older, nonetheless looks quite a lot better than either the PS3 or 360 "next-gen" versions). Also, the little things in the game add up; if you're blasting away, you'll quickly find yourself blinded by dust, or watching doors slammed open and shut by ricochets - the engine really is that detailed.

Bundled with the expansion pack (which is, sadly, not quite as great as the original), this is a solid bundle, and well worth your time.

Fun:
This game is awesome. The shadow play and graphics of surrounding is well done. The thriller theme of the scary little girl is awesome. Try the demo if you don't believe me.

The game is very much like Doom3 where you the hero transverse obstacles battling against super soldiers to save...well you get the gist. There are encounters that make you wish not to play alone and in the dark and chill you. Violence is all out in the game and the computer does use tactics against you. So don't hang about in one location too long.

Such fear to be admired by the mouths of innocent looking children...and scary little girls

Nothing more to add to the title, this game is excellent. What a fps game should be.
