Product Description

FC Barcelona created history on Wednesday 27th May 2009 as they won the UEFA Champions League in Rome thanks to goals from Samuel Eto'o and Lionel Messi.

In a superb display of the type of football that has typified what has been a magnificent season, Barca became the first team from the Spanish league to complete the unique treble as they ended Manchester United's run of 25 games unbeaten in the European competition. Relive their glory again in this fantastic final.

Join them on their Road to Rome, their first round group qualifier against wisla, their table topping form in group c right through to their matches against lyon, Bayern munich and their historical match against Chelsea in the semi finals. Not only is it action packed with match footage, but you also get the rare opportunity to hang out with the players, train with them and see inside the outstanding home ground Camp Nou.

An Historic win in an historic night in an historic city was a fitting tribute for the team of the season to complete their memorable treble.

Shame. Real shame. I don't want to repeat after all known sources, how remarkable 2009 proved to be for FCB. Six titles, all possible trophies to be won - in bag. Trailing over Real Madrid (which - stand alone - is always worth more than "just" winning La Liga). Yet, we have February 2011 and NO SIGN! of any DVD about whole year, all those magnificent victories. It can't be eclipsed, even matching that result would be next to impossible. What's this waiting for, then? OK, this DVD isn't bad - documents well road to Rome plus whole game against ManUtd (on 2nd disc), yet it captures only Madrid game from La Liga. No extras, nothing from "behind the pitch" and "into locker room" sections. Seems that even some Championship teams in England get better season treatment DVD-wise that team which in 12 months created a new history in chapter of Book of Football. O tempora, o mores...

PS: It still makes me smile, that the only Barca's defeat on the way happened in game against Polish champions, Wisla Krakow :). So-called Pyrrus victory, as Krakow were eliminated and soon succumbed into decline...

First of all, let's get one thing straight: I'm a Manchester United fan, and I only bought this DVD so that I could provide a proper reference for the Wikipedia article about the match. That said, Barcelona played some amazing football all season, and although United dominated the first ten minutes of the game, Barca never looked back after their first goal and we never got a look in.

Anyway, now for the DVD itself. Judging it purely as a DVD, I was not impressed. On first impressions, the cover looks quite unprofessional, like it was knocked up in only a few minutes. Second of all, it may only be my copy that is affected, but it seems that the discs were labelled wrongly. Disc 1 has been labelled as Disc 2, and Disc 2 as Disc 1. This is very annoying, but manageable if you remember every time that the labelling is incorrect.

As for the actual production, I was most disappointed to find that the video was only in 4:3 aspect ratio, when I would have expected 16:9. Then there's the commentators: I suppose it's fair enough that a DVD produced by FC Barcelona should have commentators provided by the club, but their bias was a little too much for me to take. They could have at least used the ITV or Sky Sports commentary for the English version and the Antena 3 or Canal+ commentary for the Spanish version.

Basically, it's not a great DVD, but definitely worth getting if you want to re-live the 2009 UEFA Champions League final, as you basically have no other option!

Super Dissapointed 13 Feb 2012
By Mike
A quick review saying I am about to send me copy back; the final is horrible quality and you can't even hear the game much, instead there are horrible commentators who sound twice as loud as the game which takes the whole reason for watching it away: atmosphere.

Also the bit I actually bought it for (road to rome) is such bad quality you literally can barely watch it. Really dissapointed because I wanted to love it.
