The books from Eyewitness Travel are always good if you want a quick overview over a new destination. If you have time for doing a deeper research I would choose other sources of information. In this case we had to do a fast planning and we found a lot of useful information in this book. If you are a returning traveler or want to go deeper into the History, Geography or other issues you will have to look in other books. This is a book with lot of pictures useful for the fast overview but of less value for the ambitious traveler.
I will definitely buy a guidebook from Eyewitness Travel again, if am going to visit a new country despites it's superficial or perhaps because of its superficial way to describe the country.

SENT THIS EYEWITNESS BOOK TO MY NIECE WHO CURRENTLY LIVES IN EUROPE. SHE AND HER HUSBAND WERE PLANNING A TRIP TO PORTUGAL. SO, I SENT HER THE PORTUGAL EYEWITNESS. SHE SAID THAT IT SAVE THEM AND THEY COULD NOT HAVE NOT GOTTEN ALONG WITHOUT IT. WE HAVE SEVERAL OF THE EYEWITNESS BOOKS AND ALL OF THEM ARE GREAT!!!!
