Great Guide 23 Nov 2000
Format:Paperback
A very useful book when trying to decide what French wines to buy, to drink now or lay down. I did the Bordeaux tour this Summer which I really enjoyed, I'm looking forward to touring other regions in the future. A great gift for anyone interested in wine.

Compact and useful 20 April 2003
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is almost a pocket reference guide to French wines. It contains early chapters giving a good introduction to the history and basics of French wine and then gives a brief guide to each of the AOC regions.

It lacks the detail and depth of the Hachette guides but is cheaper, far more accessible and the perfect companion to any holiday in France.

The easy-reference guide was invaluable on a recent foray to Burgundy and, specifically, the Cru Beaujolais region. I now look forward to putting the Bordeaux section to the test.
