Product Description

Product Description

Ideas come tumbling out of each page as Sarah McKenna shows how to create original, amusing and stunning scrapbooks with an assortment of eyelets. She shows how to attach vellum and acetates, how to use eyelets with ribbon, string and wire, how to make frames, circles and lines to emphasize shapes, and how to create mini bookbindings and clasps. Using easy to follow step-by-step photography and dozens of inspiring sprapbook layouts Sarah McKenna shows how eyelets can be used to add other embellishments and accents such as frames, mini-books, clasps, tags, charms and more to layouts. Eyelets come in the form of letters, words and miniature items to add detail or emphasis to layouts, and this book will have scrapbookers reaching for their eyelet tools and hammer, filled with inspiration and ideas! This book is an invaluable addition to any scrapbookers' library.

About the Author

Sarah McKenna became involved in scrapbooking following a visit to America. Inspired by the trend and the techniques, she started teaching workshops in the UK as soon as retail outlets started opening around the country. She now also teaches at scrapbooking conventions. These workshops and classes range from basic cropping to more advanced subjects such as mosaics and kaleidoscopes. Sarah has written articles for a number of magazines and has recently obtained a professional photography qualification (LRPS) from the Royal Photographic Society. In addition to selling cards and some commission work, she is currently working as a volunteer photographer for English Heritage. She has four children - all keen scrapbookers.

Exceeds Expectations 10 Aug 2005
Format:Paperback
Okay, I expected lots of great ideas for using eyelets on scrapbooking pages, seeing as how that's the title and all. But Sarah exceeded my expectations by sharing all sorts of fascinating tips for using a wide variety of other scrapbook products such as acetate, twill tape, and vellum. I have never seen anyone use a wavy ruler, but now that Sarah has shown me how, I can't wait to try one on my pages.

And of course, this book is full of fantastic ideas for working with eyelets! Sarah shows both how to use them and new ways to use them. The section on "Eyelets as Accents" is particularly charming.

Whether you are an experienced scrapbooker or a new-be, you'll find a project to inspire and information to guide you in this book. It's the kind of book a scrapbooker would turn to over and over again for ideas.
