Unlike a webcam you don't need to connect it to a PC to function. No special software needed, view via Firefox, IE, Safari, Chrome, etc. Windows & Mac.

I have never written more than 1 or 2 reviews on Amazon. But this deserves the plaudits. It isnt plug and play and I had a number of teething issues (mostly my fault) but it is pretty straightforward once you work it out. The whole package works as a service so they provide you with the interface for receiving and viewing the video. I'd say this is the best piece of kit I've bought since the iPhone. Teh support is patient, clear and pretty instant.

After ~24 hours with this camera, I think its a top IP camera, PTZ works well, very easy to setup - though was a little trickier on the mac - basically ignored the setup with the CDROM instructions, and moved the CDROM aside - and then just found out from my router which IP address the camera had been assigned, and went to visit it in my web browser (http://192.168.1.x) - and ta da, the page appeared ready for configuration as per the rest of the (rather simple) instructions.
Within 5 minutes or so I was up and running and the camera was working - all that was left was for me to move it around to random locations to see what was happening during the day!
Good sides;
- good resolution / decent picture.
- good motion sensing
- good PTZ (and remembering locations - although sometimes it springs back - but I currently put that down to user error having not spent a lot of time with it)
- decent camera for the price! :)
- good use of HTTP API to be able to submit to an external server when an event has occured.
- good guest user functionality to be able to see recordings / view footage :)
Down sides;
- wish the bright white LED's for low-light conditions were infra-red nightvision style ones instead - it keeps reminding me that i'm being monitored when the lights flash at me - I don't like that :o)
- Storage space offered @ 512mb is too low, could really do with more storage, I think the current cost of the additional storage is really too high to warrant it....
- Would really like some decent PVR software / server ability supplied to put on the local LAN - so you can use your own storage rather than the storage provided - I'm sure there's something out there that would work, but not looked yet :)

I have recently taken delivery of two PTZ cameras and followed the you tube guides online and found the whole process extremely easy, taking about 5-10 mins each. I happened to have used a BT Homehub so whether there are different issues with alternative routers I wouldn't know.
The cameras are fine and for the price provide a good measure of peace of mind when you're away.
A small criticism I have, and this may be largely to do with the fact that i am still learning to use the products, is that i find the Camera management options, both online and also with the supplied PC interface to be a little clunky. If you want to review the cameras from a remote location via the internet, whilst the camera positions seem to respond quite quickly, the picture refresh can take a little while unless you happen to be blessed with fast upload/download speeds.
The picture quality however is very good and you have various options to enable you to manage triggers and upload data to EyeSpy for storage or send email/sms messages to your computer or mobile.

Takes a little time to setup but the results are worth it.
