Carnage!,
By
This review is from: The Eye of the Moon (Paperback)
The Eye of the Moon is every bit as violent and gripping as The Book With No Name was, but this is much funnier and believe it or not, probably more bloodthirsty!
The story jumps back and forth in time, although not to the point where it becomes confusing. The multiple storylines are here as before and with the backstory the author has also managed to bring back some of the best characters who didn't make it to the end of the last book. The undoubted star of the show this time is the Bourbon Kid who gets much more time on the page. To reveal too much about the plot would spoil it, but the main theme is one of revenge, and extremely violent revenge it is too. There are many more twists in this installment, and many of the characters are not what (or who) they seem. The stream of cliffhangers and short chapters carry the story along at a pretty fast pace until the crazy topsy turvy ending. Overall, an extremely easy read. Very funny and very nasty. In fact think "The Dark Knight" only with an even more messed up hero, and a much darker tone. Oh, and Sanchez who lightens proceedings with every one liner. Well recommended if you liked the last one.

Almost as great as "The Book with no Name",

This review is from: The Eye of the Moon (Paperback)
I couldn't wait to continue reading the stories of the characters I had come to love in "The Book with no Name". And although I still prefer the first book, this one is almost as good. I guess that because I am now familiar with the characters and there weren't that many new surprises any more as there was in the first book AND because Elvis was dead... darn it... and Rex was gone too... *sniff* I didn't enjoy it as much as the first book, but still loved it though.
Hope to see more stories if this kind by Anonymous. Great reading, and really funny in lots of places. Laughed out loud several times reading this and the first book.

My second favourite novel,

This review is from: The Eye of the Moon (Bourbon Kid 2) (Paperback)
If your looking for fast pascked action with zombies, vampires and werewolves, look no further, not to mention ass kicking monks, gun slinging maniacs and the odd elvis impersonator. was expecting a dissapointment from the standard set in 'the book with no name' but was utterly delighted with this follow up. Couldnt put it it down, with so much of a story to unfold how could you! A must read for fantasy or action fans, but really could appeal to everyone.
