This is an utterly fantastic product that has finally brought the domestic household camera into the realm of the Wi-Fi era.
It connects to your computer via the Wi-Fi part of your household broadband connection and uses the router (the BT White box for example) to send the photos to any location you have programmed the card itself to send them.
You firstly register the card, on a computer (Mac or PC), do updates etc to the software, then using the installed step by step guide fill in the details the card needs to work, ie the name of the computer, the password and location of any online storage etc you require, all using the 4 step guide.
I had mine working within 3 minutes of having it out of the box!
And I hgave to admit, I am a fan... a big fan.
This little device can seamlessly send photo's the instant you take them to a computer of your choice, or should you wish similtainously to an online photo service such as Mobileme (for Mac) picasa, or facebook etc.
Brilliant!
It does also provide access via hotspots in the UK, to enable sending of photo's 'on the go', but you need to read that for yourselves and get current guidance from the manufacturers.
Also good if your elderly/disabled relatives have a computer and can use that, but find that taking, downloading and then sending photos a bit too much... this will do it all for them, and at 4GB's the card will hold roughly 700 images at 10MB's each!
You do need to make allowances for the power consumption that this little thing takes from your camera, however in my experience this is not excessive: However if you are using this at an important event etc, make sure you do have a charged spare to hand!
Photos are also stored on the card itself, like other SD cards, and can be downloaded, transfered and copied etc at will just like any other card.
In conclusion then this makes a great gadget for the early uptakers and trend setters of you out there, and a very usefull addition to the household!

5.0 out of 5 stars Exceeds expectations! 7 Nov 2009
By Paul Madge HALL OF FAME TOP 10 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
I was bought this by my girlfriend who discovered this before I did despite my pechant for high techology. It is simplicity to set up on your PC - I was up and running in Windows XP within 5 mins.

I am using it in my Panasonic TZ5 camera which is set to take pictures at the highest quality and in 16:9 format. You simply take the pictures you want and when you bring the camera (whilst switched on) within range of your wireless network and your PC is on it immediately uploads the pictures to the PC. The results are obviously no different in quality to those achieved by connecting the camera or card to the PC via USB etc. but it's much less hassle, and, far more 21st century than using wires. Additionally, this method of upload makes sure your pictures are uploaded to your PC because it can be set to be automatic - how many times have you said "I've been meaning to upload those pics to my PC" but not got round to it?

There are also a range of options - you can upload to Facebook etc. and other websites directly if you wish.

I am not easily satisfied with gadgets but this product really does merit 5 stars. Well done Eye-Fi!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wireless Photo Card 11 Dec 2009
This product works fine right out of the box. I've used it on my MAC and with an Pentax K200D.
Installations is strait forward and works instantly, you need an good wireless connection though.
We are only going to use it for photo's that are directly uploaded to Picassa or flicker. So no hassle anymore with cables.

Highly recommended product!
