I happened to hear this album played while I was browsing in a second-hand clothes store, and came away with nothing but the artist's name. It's been playing in my head since then: lyrics that express familiar feelings in a fresh (dare i say poetic?) way, with a jazzy, swinging accompaniment, very hummable. People say Fiona Apple is in the same category as Tori Amos, but I heard none of the self-pitying whingeing here that I'd associate with Tori.

This was a purchase for a friend who is a HUGE Fiona Apple fan, so as expected he was over the moon and thinks this is the best thing since sliced bread. Apparently a hard to find cd (or limited edition).

As a thank you he burned me a copy to introduce me to the "amazing world of Fiona Apple". I have yet to discover it for myself, however if you love soulful, deep and eclectic music.
