Product Description

Most golfers bring more than their clubs to the course. They come with doubt, excitement, fear, desire - and a lot of hope. They believe that getting the right swing or hitting the right shot will lead to the best scores. They get so hung up on looking good; they often end up looking bad. Renowned golf teacher Fred Schoemaker gives players a new perspective. He combines a host of practical, proven exercises with a whole new way of thinking - and reveals the extraordinary possibilities in everyone's game. "Extraordinary Golf is a refreshing blueprint for changing your mind, your play, and your entire golfing experience. --This text refers to the Hardcover edition.

I came home from a golfing holiday recently with the intention of giving the game up. Although the company was great the golf was awful - i got worse throughout the week until i felt like i had never held a club before and i have been playing for 20 years. BUT i had ordered this book before i went and it was waiting for me on my return. I read it from cover to cover that same evening and i was truly inspired. I resolved to practise what Fred preaches and guess what - he's right. Forget the theory, get into the game. Although my handicap has not yet tumbled i feel it will at any moment - and even if it doesn't the fun is what matters. And the best part - more fun = lower scores! Read this book with an open mind and it could change your game and your life.

What a fantastic book. The first time I read it I was so intrigued by the club throwing exercise that I missed most of the other messages that Fred was writing about.

Having now read the book several times, it is now all the other stuff he talks about that intrigues me. Thanks to Gallwey and Murphy, I had already started to play the game with more joy, but Fred has helped bring me to a new level.

I am also a golf coach and, like Fred, have been searching for a better way to coach my students.

It's a pity I didn't come accross this book sooner as I would have coached myself and others much better and we could all have played in a more peacefull state.

Thanks Fred.

Buy it, read it, try it.

It is just fantastic, natural, and extraordinary.

This book has really helped me enjoy golf more AND at the same time improve my game and score. I don't want to say it's light hearted but it's not as "deep" as "The Inner Game of Golf". It teachs you that the way we look at the game of golf is counter productive. We are always striving to be just a little better and by doing that we are never happy. Once you become comfortable and start playing for fun you not only enjoy the game more BUT your scores go down.

For me that has happened.

It also debunks the swing thought theory. During the swing is not the time to load your head up with thoughts.

Oh, pardon me, did I yawn?
A bit boring. More on the mental game from some veteran mental gamesters. Bob Rotella did it better with a less portentious tone.
