"What a fantastic story. I couldn't put the book down, and at a bargain price."

"Though Sci-Fi is not my typical read, Extinction is one of the best books I have ever read in this genre."~ Farrell M. Soltan- Verified Amazon Purchase

The Earth is on the verge of extinction. The final battle for survival has just begun!

A war for survival had started light-years away, yet most on Earth did not even know man had travelled that far. The governments kept the masses in the dark, and most people liked it that way.

Ace Archer is a Brooklyn man who has the guts and fighting skills to make an elite Earth Command Marine team called the 'Big Guns'. His body is enhanced for a special intergalactic mission. He knows it might be a final mission--for him, his crazy team, and humanity!

An interstellar war with the alien Greys has destroyed man's nascent voyage into space. Ace and his team must save a group of scientists holed-up at a secret base doing studies on a virus they think can save mankind. But the virus is much more, capable of destroying mankind in a strange, horrifying manner.

Can Ace and his unique ragtag Special Forces team fight off telepathic Alien Greys, Robots, and overwhelming odds to save humanity? With a team comprised of a bipolar Russian explosives expert who speaks to a teddy bear, a Japanese woman telepath and a cyborg Army Ranger--anything is possible!

4.0 out of 5 stars Red Dwarf meets Dan Dare & others 30 Nov 2014
By Toolman
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
A good gun and ho story. Yes as another reviewer has stated a bit Dan Dare, but add in some Red Dwarf, an quite a few others all mixed into the story and you have an enjoyable tongue in cheek read and yes some corny parts but that just adds to the overall story.
The bit that got to me was the disjointed last few chapters. Some parts were done as catch up to fill the reader in on what happened in between but where I would have liked to read about it during the story.
Characters are fun to read about and you get some brief history for most and names are so 19 70 ' s - 'Ace Archer' as the hero, 'Colonel Manpower' 'Captain Kerr', but this puts a smile on my face as it suits the plot line.

2.0 out of 5 stars Biggles rides again 26 Sep 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Or is it Dan Dare, in either case this novel is no great improvement on the original comic book heroes and even goes so far as to steal their plotlines (space spiders!). This would translate well into a cartoon series as almost every other chapter see's a major character face death only to be miraculously rescued or saved, or in one case come back to life for no real apparent purpose or reason. By all means read this one really wet afternoon if you want to stay dry, personally i would recommend a long, long walk with or without an umbrella!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great Sci-Fi tale of lies and deception 28 July 2014

A well written yarn of space travel, aliens, technological advances, blood, guts and sex. The main character 'Ace' is so unbelievably square and yet quite a hero. I started this story and kept coming back for more. I am certainly looking forward to the follow-up story cos this guy just won't stop. His companions are well suited to his ego, the mad Russian 'Ivan' (who isn't mad at all) and 'Jimbo' who is just about indestructible and finally the woman he falls for 'Kiya'.

Though Sci-Fi is not my typical read, Extinction is one of the best books I have ever read in this genre. Not because there was a galaxy-changing event taking place (there was), but because I was so invested in the characters, the pace of the book, and the societal/technological challenges the human race will face in the near future as articulated by the author.

I was hooked from the first quote (i.e., a famous quote precedes each chapter), and the first page (which illustrates the insight and understanding the author has of both his male and female characters). Brace yourself for an action packed roller-coaster ride, a sophisticated plot, technology insights, white hats & black hats, and some well placed dry humor.

Teora takes his readers on a suspenseful/emotional journey with characters who are certain to become part of a series. In fact, the writing is so good that I would not be surprised if Extinction becomes the next blockbuster space vehicle like Star Wars.

Do yourself a favor, get this book. You will not regret it for one second. It is fantastic!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good story line limited character development 6 Sep 2014
By DAT
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Arrived promptly and as advertised.

Disjointed beginning. Good story line limited character development.
Major difficulty with understanding how the destruction of large alien spaceship on the fringe of space isn't a mass extinction event.
All in all had good with potential.
