3.0 out of 5 stars Ok to watch 13 Nov 2012

Bought this as sounded quite good although disappointed after watching it. Its not really worth the money but is ok I guess if you have nothing else to do one night and just fancy watching something with no story and not many scary scenes. Its bearable at the end of the day.

4.0 out of 5 stars post apocalyptic 28 days style 12 Feb 2013
this is not a zombie film as such as the undead are infected and some of them can move like free runners rather than the old school slow style. set in europe at an abandoned army base this is quite an atmospheric post apoc film rather than gore fest which reminds me of day of the dead and series 3 of the walking dead and most pleasing of all they dont just stay in one place the whole movie they do go in search of sanctuary. in short if u like zombies and more so post apoc films this is worth a look as i thort a pleasent surprise. some reviews unfair as wanted gore fest methink.

3.0 out of 5 stars IT IS THE EIGHTH DAY 8 Jun 2013
By The Movie Guy TOP 500 REVIEWER
This is a rather long film in need of editing. It centers on Tom (Daniel Buder) who has survived a zombie outbreak. He holds up in a safe watchtower with a secured perimeter. He does everything correctly. Tom searches for survivors and answers. Through the course of the film he gets both. The zombie infestation is caused by a mutant virus, for which a small percentage of the population is immune.

They really had a golden opportunity as the virus effects people differently. They could of had more fun developing stranger zombies. Likewise the characters in this film were stiff and devoid of personality that would cause interesting internal conflict. A drab film. 3 stars is pushing it.

Parental Guide: F-bomb. No sex or nudity.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nature wins again! 22 Jan 2013

If you are a fan of post-apocalyptic and diseased ridden humans, it is great fun to watch. It is gruesome in parts, but what do you expect? I recommend it as a Friday night special.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good idea. 12 Sep 2012

Not the best zombie movie, but a good effort. Nice idea to have mutating zombies. If you can pick it up at a good price, give it a go.

This is one of those films where you see a trailer and think "wow!that looks amazing". Then rush out and buy the film only to realise the trailer consists of all the good bits.(And there are not too many of those). Bad acting, half the time the sound seems dubbed, poor plotline, terrible film. I own thousands of dvd's and this is without a doubt just about the worse one. One star and thats one star too much.
So if you've seen the trailer and are tempted....don't be fooled!

1.0 out of 5 stars This film should be extinct 6 Nov 2012
By D. Krol TOP 1000 REVIEWER
I don't know what to say about this atrocity of a film.

It's basically one guy in the midst of a zombie apocalypse who then stumbles into survivors. One just happens to be a born leader, another a nurse, another one a C.I.A agent, and one's a scientist yada yada yaa. We then get loads of dull boring dialogue and wouldn't you know it, The group are trimmed down just enough so that all of the survivors end up paired off with each other (Yawn)

Add to this some very basic make up effects (Chewing an alka seltzer does not a zombie make), poor acting and a pace that your average garden snail would leave in a cloud of dust and you have Extinction.

One nice twist is that the zombies do mutate in this film and evolve, which I thought was a nice idea. However, when it's as poorly executed as this the nice idea is killed off. I mean, I can accept the fact that the zombies mutate into black faced devil type creatures but I can't for one minute buy the fact that their clothes evolve into jogging pants and hoodies at the same time.

Dreadful film!
