This is a great product, and the cheapest external writer I could find. Delevery was reasonable, three days. Curiously, it comes with 2 usb cables. One for data, the other for power. I soon discovered that I only needed to connect the data cable, the unit draws power through that. I had a few failed burns while using windows built in disc writing software, so I advise you to use a dedicated program such as Nero, as this offers 'buffer underrun protection'. I use mine with my netbook. It slips nicely into my bag and I just pull it out when I need it. An all round quality product. Nice and small. Would deffinatly reccomend.

I bought this to replace the broken DVD CD R/RW drive on my ancient laptop and it does just what it says on the tin. I'm running XP, I used the power and data connections into the USB ports and it worked straight out of the box. It's a neat unit, a fairly sturdy thing. Packaging and delivery were fine. Great price, thank you.

The product is as described and is slim and light so easy to carry as an external drive. ideal for notebook or small laptop. had to download codec for dvd play on pc, but plays dvds and cds well. Only downside due to its size and being so lightweight, am not sure how durable and long lasting it will be. doubt it would withstand being dropped for example but if care is taken a nice compact devise. well priced and seems to be one of the few in that pricerange that both plays cd's and dvs's as well as burns. Ideal

You seriously need to correct your product info
Product details say "This is a DVD Writer" - it does NOT write DVDs. Not cool man, not cool at all.

Don't buy!
This contraption worked for a couple of weeks, burning no more than 2 cds a day, then "malfunctioned" and hasn't worked since. Waste of money and raised my blood pressure. Read more
