Good to see a Sci fi series without a lot of special effects but still with a good grip on what a story can be with a decent plot and a great cast to follow it through. It plays well with mind games and leads you through the story without staying too long on flat scenes which might make it go stagnant.Always a nice little twist here and there which peeks your interest and makes you want a bit more. Now on episode 11 ,I can see the build up to a season finale which will probably take a twist and leave you wanting more.Bring on season 2.

Very good show covering many sci-fi genres all at once (robots, aliens, body horror and government cover ups) Halle Berry is good (better than most films I've seen her in) and the young boy, Pierce Gagnon, is excellent. It's not a high brow show but is very entertaining. Check it out. Amazon Prime please buy more new tv shows from the US, all the shows so far have been good (Vikings, Black Sails and this one.)

Thoroughly enjoyed this, and seeing Halle Berry mature is wonderful. She has aged well, and her talent has grown. My older children love the bits where aliens say "It's OK" and they shout back "Oh no it's not OK" - a bit of a pantomime feature. It is a little cheesy and I do wonder if there are too many sub stories going on, i.e. is this about robots developing AI and going to war with hacked off B-list british actors (we do evil baddies so well in US sci-fi), or is it about an alien coming to the world and taking over. I think Halle's inability to see that her demon spawn child resulting from an extra-terrestrial sexual assault might not be worth saving is somewhat odd. I mean come on, mother's of delinquent toddlers and teenagers frequently throw in the towel for far less - and knowing that your child is potentially demon spawn and you are a super rational astronaut trained to operate in uber-stress conditions doesn't compute. Also, the fact that the dad can build a robot humanoid and yet drives a regular BMW i3 (which is a nice car, but really, for the equivalent of a Steve Jobs character, he'd be in something better). However, this silliness and inconsistency is part of the joy of this SCI-FI series. Remember, "It's OK"

This is an excellent series. Hallie Berrie excels in the lead role. The series involves 2 major plot lines. One dominates Molly Woods life after becoming pregnant on her return after 13 month in space. The other dominates her husband John, a robotics engineer who created their son Ethan, a prototype android called a "humanich"! However both are intrinsically linked to Hideki Yasumoto. Dangerous, helpless and brilliant, the story does not give an inch while taking a mile. Watch it, be scared and be amazed!

Good sci-fi is one of the harder genres to succeed in. Extant has had a promising start, the first episode seemingly a mash-up of 2001 and The Omen. It will be interesting to see how the story develops and whether it keeps us watching.

I was pleasantly surprised how good a first episode was of EXTANT, some familiar faces from the big screen gave a great feel to the whole episode, often on first episodes my mind begins wonder what they are trying to put across, Dominion being a prime example, Extant kept me interested from start to finish and i am looking forward to the next episode as the plot thickens. If you enjoy the genre then this is one definitely to watch.
