i'm sure it's very good for you if it does what you want, but i tried to connect it to a firewire express card, and it doesn't work.

I bought this to fit a Vodaphone Express data card to my laptop. at first installation it worked well but within a few days I found that when I tried to use it, whether I connected it first and then booted or put it in when the computer was already on, the device was constatly being detected and then not detected every few seconds. I wasted a lot of time reloading the mobile software and everything else. Then I tried the Express card in another laptop that had an express card slot and it worked perfectly but with the same laptop through the startech usb adaptor the same problem of detecting and not detecting every few seconds. Bitterly disappointed and will stay away from Startech stuff from now on. It isn't worth persueing getting back the £15 wasted on buying it.
Bought this to connect a Firewire express card to capture video from my DV camcorder. Does'nt work. Only works on Broadband expresscards. Even though the box suggests otherwise.!!! Anybody have any ideas??
