Book Description

"I am convinced that UFOs exist because I have seen one."
--President Jimmy Carter

What are UFOs?
Why are they here?
What is the Government not telling us?

Exposed, Uncovered, and Declassified: UFOs & Aliens strives to address all of these questions--and more--by covering new evidence of famous sightings and contact with aliens, and uncovering classified files from world-class collections and archives--all courtesy of the world's leading experts on modern ufology.

Nuclear physicist and world-renowned UFO expert Stanton T. Friedman discusses how close we really are to interstellar travel.

Erich von Daniken, father of the ancient astronaut theory, discusses the possibility and evidence of ancient hybrid creatures created by visiting god-like aliens.

Nick Pope, former member of the British Ministry of Defence, covers the latest UFO documents released by the UK's National Archives, including such fascinating information as: what Churchill knew, why the documents are being released now, what's in them, and what's still being withheld.

Donald R. Schmitt, the former co-director of the J. Allen Hynek Center for UFO Studies, takes on the aftermath of the Roswell incident, discussing in detail the initial stages of the government's cover-up attempts.

Air Force veteran Thomas J. Carey chronicles the military's attempts to intimidate people into not telling their stories about what they have seen with their own eyes.

The niece of Betty and Barney Hill, Kathleen Marden, gives a short history of cases of alien abduction, many which continue to baffle the American public and UFO investigators alike.

Nick Redfern provides a fresh take on the famous 1953 UFO crash in Kingman, Arizona, and explores its possible connection to a government program to reverse-engineer alien spacecraft.

Ufologist John White gives an overview of the UFO experience and finds there is no single answer to the question:  What are UFOs?

Something is out there, and Exposed, Uncovered, and Declassified: UFOs & Aliens will help us find out exactly what--or who--it is.

About the Author

Michael Pye has been an acquisitions editor for New Page Books since 2003. He developed a healthy appetite for the unexplained by watching far too many episodes of In Search Of hosted by Leonard Nimoy after school instead of doing his homework, which turned him into a reader of books on the strange and unexplained. Kirsten Dalley has worked in the editorial dept at New Page Books since 2004.

4.0 out of 5 stars A true hodgepodge 3 July 2011
By Christopher Augustin - Published on
A true hodgepodge of stories covering the very basics of the UFO phenomenon from the Roswell New Mexico crash of 1947 to the ancient astronaut theories involving genetic manipulation and hybrid beings tens of thousands of years ago. This book features writings from some of the most prominent authors in the field, providing the reader with just enough information to prompt them to research these areas in depth. Expertly crafted, well written and fast paced. The only downfall is quickly the book was finished.

4.0 out of 5 stars UFOs and Aliens- People Will Always Want To Know More 2 Jun. 2011
By Dr. Joseph S. Maresca - Published on
The book starts out by explaining the various
levels of security clearances employed in UFO
sighting cases. At times, actual security clearances
are needed and information may not be ascertainable.
The drama will end when the government releases
the details of UFO events at some time which
cannot be predicted until the event happens.

The evidence of UFOs may be recovered and wisked
away by classified couriers before the press can
get to view the real evidence . Combating saucers
may be done through reverse engineering .
The design of a flying saucer is simple enough in
the reviewer's mind . The machine may run by
fusion power or some kind of perpetual motion machine.
The lift off might happen by directing a centrifugal
wind or energy force downward to achieve the vertical
lift. Management of Mohr's non-linear forces could
accomplish the rest.

The Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence
Institute (SETI) found no evidence that
aliens are visiting the earth according to
this book. By the doctrine of common sense,
how could the information be kept under wraps
for any period of time given today's advanced
communication systems and personal cell phones et al .
Some near misses have been documented with
commercial aircraft. What are we seeing in a near
miss event with a flying saucer ?

Perhaps, the event happened in another time zone,
a black hole or the travelers themselves have the
technological capability to mask their physical
identity by manipulating time coordinates or some
other means not fully understood on earth.

The nuclear physicist Friedman believed that fusion
was useful for deep space travel. This is true because
fusion power can be generated from seemingly
infinitesimal explosions which are harvested to
produce an energy yield greater than the input
of the experiment.

The general public just can't get enough of UFOs ,
aliens and extraterrestrials. For this reason,
the book may be of interest to a wide constituency of
journalists, academicians and scientists in virtually
every area of investigation. This work is written
well and the authors researched the contents
considerably. There is an extensive list of well
known UFO experts set forth at the end of the presentation.

3.0 out of 5 stars Is that all there is? 5 Jan. 2013

I guess I didn't pay attention to how many pages were in the book.
Good information but more like a snack than a book.
2.0 out of 5 stars Utterly disappointed 11 May 2013
By Sassan31 - Published on
I was utterly disappointed. I was looking for a book that laid down the case for the existence of UFOs scientifically and with real evidence. Aside from Nick Pope, the book was mainly anecdotal and even delved in to "ghosts", "psychics" and the such. I enjoyed some of the essays (especially on Roswell and that of Stanton Friedman); and some of them were thought provoking... but this is not a book that I would recommend.
5.0 out of 5 stars Provides excellent perspective and analysis 22 May 2013
By Gregory Gavrilides - Published on
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Various specific aspects of the UFO subject are addressed, clearly and incisively. The reader is provided with a perspective regarding Ufology that sorts through the numerous aspects of the topic, resulting in a refreshingly clear overview. The book title is apropos!
