Product Description

In bestselling author Alex Kava's spine-chilling new thriller, FBI criminal profiler Maggie O'Dell must expose a killer who hides in plain sight. Agent Maggie O'Dell believes she's responding to a threat, but instead walks into a trap. The killer's weapon is a deadly virus, virtually invisible and totally unexpected. His victims appear to be random but, in fact, they are chosen with a revengeful precision. Maggie knows dangerous minds - from hauntingly perverse child predators to cunningly twisted serial killers. Now she faces a new opponent from inside an isolation ward. Maggie must find clues to catch the killer - while waiting to see if the deadly strain is already multiplying in her body. With every new exposure there's the potential for an epidemic. And Maggie knows she may not live long enough to discover who is the deadliest, most intelligent killer she's ever profiled.

Exposed 6 Oct 2008
By molko VINE™ VOICE
Format:Hardcover
This is the 6th in Alex Kava's Maggie O'Dell series. Well that's what it's labelled as, even though Maggie O'Dell is only featured in about a quarter of the whole book if that. This book is a total let down, the plot is flimsy, boring and totally all over the place. There is no character development at all and it's a completely un necessary book in the series. I found the abundance of new characters quite hard to keep track of and due to the lack of reality with the characters I found them hard to care for. On the front cover there is a quote that says 'Reminiscent of Patricia Cornwell in her prime.' and let me tell you this is most definately not the case. Kava could only dream of being as good as Cornwell and I found that comment to be a huge overstatement.

When Alex Kava first hit the scene with her best book to date in the series 'A Perfect Evil' she gained alot of fans, and she earnt them. But over the years her efforts have decreased and I've grown more and more tired with her dire efforts.

I sincerly hope the next book is an improvement for I fear if it is not then I shall be hard pushed to want to continue with this ever-downward spiralling series.

Exposed by Alex Kava 4 July 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
With an author like Kava this book had the potential to be an outstanding example of this genre. Instead I was left very disappointed with a slow, almost suspense less plot and a focus on the minutiae of the characters' lives. There were times when I found myself eagerly awaiting the next chapter, but these were few and far between.

For those who do not follow the series, the plethora of characters and unexplained backstory makes it difficult to develop a real connection to the characters.

The saving grace of the novel was the detail Kava provided, perfect for medical-thriller fans.

Overall one for fans of the series only. The plot focuses too much on character development rather than the exciting story line, leaving a new reader disappointed.

Its got me hooked 21 Mar 2011
By P. Hone
Format:Paperback
This book was cheap in a supermarket. I had never heard of Alex Kava but thought I would give it a go. The comparison to Patricia Cornwell is irrelevant. Books should be read on their own merit and this was so good that it has driven me on to Amazon to see what else Alex Kava has written. I intend to buy all the Maggie series before trying her other diversions. It was well written with a good pace and had me hooked on the first late night dive into this new (for me) author. Sweet. Another author on my 'every book by' list.
