Product Description

Product Description

This title is a winner of a 2008 Teachers' Choice Award! Many children, especially those with developmental delays, have trouble understanding or expressing their feelings. The result can be difficulty with anger management. Listing possible responses to situations - and the likely outcome of each one - allows the child to make informed decisions about which responses to choose (walking away versus hitting). This book provides a guide for caregivers and then the workbook portion asks children to identify situations that trigger their anger and find appropriate ways to respond.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointing, 22 Aug 2005
By A Customer
I was very disappointed in this book and it's brother on anger. The layout of both books is bare and uninspiring with not enough information or help to enable parents to use them easily with their children.

Both books are almost exactly identical too, virtually only differing in substituting the word "anger" for the word "anxiety" in their respective pages, so it would only be necessary for someone to buy one book if they were considering buying both.

A much better book we found for use with our son, who has Asperger's Syndrome, was Paul Stallard's 'Think Good - Feel Good: a cognitive behaviour therapy workbook for children and young people'.

3.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use Workbook, 18 Jan 2006

(TOP 500 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
Originally aimed at Aspergers children aged 9-12, this material can readily be adapted for use with Adolescents or Adults.
This book introduces Cognititive Behaviour Therapy in a simplified form, with Sessions looking at Self-Respect, Feeling Good, Feeling Poisonous Thoughts etc.
What isn't apparent is that the pages are actually perforated, so that you could easily remove them for tutorial work – how useful.
