Product Description

Fraught with danger, Under The Sea plunges into the icy depths of the ocean, taking the reader in search of sunken treasure in the wreck of the SS Desdemona. There are plenty of challenges to tackle along the way - plus some truly terrifying experiences. From learning how to dive and exploring the reef and the wreck, to surviving the underwater environment, coping with the pressure and having close encounters with the weird and woderful sea-life and the monsters from the deep, this book lets children become intrepid explorers themselves and have their very own fantastic adventure. So do try this at home! Be a Couch Explorer!

About the Author

Writer and broadcaster Simon Chapman is a self-confessed jungle addict, making expeditions whenever he can. His travels have taken him to tropical forests all over the world, from Borneo and Irian Jaya to the Amazon. The story of his search for a mythical Giant Ape in the Bolivian rainforest, The Monster of the Madidi, was published in 2001. He has also had numerous articles and illustrations published in magazines in Britain and the US, including Wanderlust, BBC Wildlife and South American Explorer, has written and recorded for BBC Radio 4, and lectured on the organisation of jungle expeditions at the Royal Geographical Society, of which he is a fellow. When not exploring, Simon lives with his wife and his two young children in Lancaster where he teaches physics in a high school.
