5.0 out of 5 stars Great Reading 21 July 2002
By Inge H. Schon-Valdez - Published on Amazon.com
I loved this book and just HAD to order the rest of this series! Story is based on actual happenings according to the author. Gives great insight on the british rule over Australia, well done descriptions of happenings/locations. I highly recommend it!
4.0 out of 5 stars A 12 volume series 10 Sep 2012

This book is but one of a series, 12 volumes in all and I have read all 12. This is an interesting look at Australia from the genesis of the country as a penal colony to the 20th century as seen through the eyes of two prominent Australian families.

I enjoyed this series quite a bit and shared all 12 volumes with a close friend and she, like me, finds them to be very entertaining and educational as historical fiction and I feel most people who were to read this work would enjoy it.

To get the most out of each book, one should read the entire 12 volumes to appreciate what the author is trying to tell us as readers.

The delivery was very prompt but the book had been 'read' by many folks as it was a bit beat up but it was as advertised, no surprises here for me.
