These weatherproof Ordnance Survey maps are the last word in durability, outlasting many other similar but inferior products. Outstanding All Weather Maps are covered in polyester film which is much stronger than the cheap polypropylene used by most of its rivals (which is prone to splitting, tearing and de-lamination). Each Explorer and Explorer OL Outstanding All Weather Map is supplied in a specially overprinted, triple-purpose, transparent plastic wallet (please see product images), which:- A) Is tough, protective, and also helps to compact your map in its folded state. B) Has an overprinted 360 degree protractor style bearing-finder; to overlay onto your map. When used in conjunction with any compass, it easily enables you to calculate the exact bearing of any location on the map from your viewpoint. C) Two walking distance rules, one in miles and another in kilometres, when placed over the mapping give you an at-a-glance distance measurement (as the crow flies) between chosen points on the mapping up to 6km apart. If you are an enthusiastic walker who needs their map to withstand not only the weather but also general wear and tear, these are the maps for you. An Outstanding All Weather Map may even come in handy in an unexpected downpour! The areas covered and edition numbers are identical to the paper versions from which they are derived.
