Having moved from the UK to live and work in Australia for a few years, we plan to travel and see as much of this wonderful continent as we can during our time here. The sheer size of the place, however, makes planning our travels a challenge, so we looked for a guide book or road atlas to help us. This book, latest in the series, seems to meet most of our needs. There is a region by region guide, with sections on all the major cities and towns. This is divided into sections on what to see, where to eat and where to go. Museums, Parks and gardens, Walks and Tours and Sport all get a mention, and there's a brief where to stay list though we'll still be doing an Internet search for accommodation. This section also has small maps of urban areas, but the last quarter of the book contains a road atlas of Australia, which appears quite adequate for route planning, though I find the maps a little haphazard in their layout and you have to note the differing scales of the maps as you go from page to page.
All in all, if you only want to buy one book to guide you in your travels round Australia, this is the one. With a RRP of nearly $60 here in Oz it's quite pricey. We got our copy from Amazon UK at less than half that price, even including P&P.
