I borrowed this book initially from the local library and found it so informative that I ordered it, especially if you have very little info on the subject. It is written in "simple English" and fantastic examples have been given which you can relate to your own situation. I haven't finished reading it but I have been highlighting important/relevant bits for me, so I can always look back. I am reading this as a parent of child whose diagnosis has come very recently and could not really discuss things at the outset with anybody. Therefore, this was a good way to feel comfortable and accepting of the condition. This was also a basic "catch-all" for all different aspects of the Spectrum. It is still important to contact support groups to cope in the best way for your individual needs.

This is a book written by someone with first hand experience of the problems associated with autism and is a very valuable source of information to anyone seeking to gain an understanding. It could be of use to anyone dealing with an autistic member of the family
