Reviews

In the first ever LAW & ORDER movie, Chris Noth reprises his role of Detective-Mike Logan which he originated on the series from 1990-1995. Exiled to Staten Island after punching a city councilman, Detective Mike Logan is bored with chasing stolen lawn mowers . But a prostitute s murder may be his ticket back to Manhattan Homicide. His world-weary lieutenant reluctantly assigns Logan to the case and teams him with Detective Frankie Silvera. Along the way, they encounter a mob figure and his father and learn that there s a dirty cop in Logan s old precinct.

yes, I am a fan of hot headed, bad tempered detective Mike Logan, so I enjoyed this movie more probably due to my predilection and affection for this charachter, but it was really a lot of satisfaction to see how he got even after been thrown out of the show, withour saying that is always a real joy to find again the atmosphere of the NYPD 27th precinct and its detectives, Lennie Briscoe and LT. Anita Van Buren.

Besides, the movie finally explains the disappearence from the series, during the 9th season, of detective Profaci, that one was never even mentioned in the main series anywhere.

Finally, I believe that this movie, even if you are not a Law & Order's fan, is worthed a look.

I'm a big L&O fan so I had to see this movie. It's got a good storyline and a few cameo appearances from regulars Briscoe and Curtis. You'll see why they only ever made one L&O movie though, as it is just too long. After about 70 minutes it just dragged on. Can see now why the episodes are less than an hour long.

3 stars or 4? I really couldn't decide. I love the Law and Order Tv series and I think that the one hour episodes are perfectly timed. Exiled however does seem to drag in some places and I feel it would have been far better as a normal Law and Order TV episode.
If you are watching the TV series boxsets, this is probably best watched at the end of the eighth series.
Good to see some decent guest stars pop up including Ice-T who would go onto be a main star of the sister show Law and Order Special Victims Unit. Just before getting a regular role in CSI Las Vegas, Paul Guilfoyle pops up here as another police detective, this time working for the NYPD.
All Law and Order fans should see this film, even if it's just to see more of the fantastic Chris Noth in the lead role. I'm guessing this was filmed at the same time as he started appearing in the HBO Sex and the City series. L&O fans can also see if they feel it would have been better to present this as a regular episode too.
It was also good to see regulars (at the time) from the TV series appear including the fantastic late Jerry Orbach.
If you like Law and Order, this is worth a watch.

This was OK, but not as good as the series. Just as case of the film company trying to cash in on the popularity of the series

This makes for good viewing whether or not you are a Law and Order fan. The plot is good and it is interesting the way that many of the L & O characters are introduced.

Bit of a shame! Ice T a baddie? Whatever, if you're a fan of Law & Order it's nearly acceptable.
