Within the pages of "Exhibition 36", the reader enters a virtual art exhibit featuring 36 mixed-media artists whose collage, digital, assemblage, altered and repurposed art adorn the walls and pedestals of the gallery.The artists are 'present' with the reader, available to talk about their work and share their techniques and creative processes. The reader attends presentations by well-know artists such as Jonathan Talbot, listen in on a question-and-answer sessions with popular crafters such as Claudine Hellmuth, and peek in on demos by mixed-media authors and artists such as Suzanne Simanaitis.Before heading out the door, the reader will receive a gift for attending: collage sheets containing donated imagery from the artists themselves for use in the reader's own art.
About the Author
A self-taught mixed-media artist, Susan Tuttle creates collage and assemblage pieces from found imagery and recycled objects. She has a website (www.ilkasattic.com) and a blog (www.ilkasattic.blogspot.com).

Mixed-media is big business these days, and there is a bewildering array of art books to choose from,that seem to have covered most techniques; so to find one that is interesting, inspiring and innovative is rare.
However, this is just what Susan Tuttle has managed to produce with Exhibition 36. It had me running to my work desk in the first chapter!
I highly recommended buying this book. You won't be disappointed, and you will certainly be inspired!

I purchased this book a couple of weeks ago and absolutely loved it. It has been read from cover to cover, and I found it to be a lovely and inspirational book. It is not just a book for artists, but for creative people from all art disciplines. I particularly loved the diversity of the artists who contributed to the book, and was delighted to see the work of artists I didn't previously know the work of, and am now a fan of. A highly recommendable read, to enjoy and return often to for inspiration.

If you are aready interested in mixed media or journaling or are just thinking of starting then this is a superb book full of inspirational pieces by an eclectic mix of artists. Lots of instructions and tips and tricks of the trade. Visually very appealing and a book that I just can't stop looking at.
