Should be used purely for toning. This is based upon Callanetics (stand in front of a chair, heels together, toes apart, and rise up on your heels then lower in various exercises), and is divided into 5 10-min segments. I admit, the husband and wife presenters aren't the most dynamic but frankly, all I'm interested in is the exercise, and I also put music on so that helps. Check out amazon.com reviews for full details, this is a really effective DVD. Also, in its extras, it has a sections from their other DVD's, and the arm segment here is excellent. This is not an easy DVD, but does work. If you want to tighten up your jiggly thighs, tighten up your rear, and improve your flexibility then this is a great DVD to do, but regularly if you want to see results. I have a couple of knee issues, and am generally fine doing this DVD but the key here is alignment - if you fall out of it then you might have problems. It is NOT easy but I strongly recommend this DVD as an addiiton to your general cardio. As an idea of effectiveness, I've been working on this for the last 3 weeks but slacked off my cardio, and now my middle looks much larger as my legs have slimmed down and my waist hasn't followed suit grrr. Be warned! Give it a try

I've done this 4 times, so it is too early to say does it work. Problem is, the couple exercise in very dark room, on dark floor wearing black cloths. Not only this- the way they are filmed is another issue, as you can only see their torsos instead their legs, when they exercise. After 4 times I still don't really know what I supposed to do... My lower back really hurts, but it might be because I'm doing things wrong. Also 2 of the workshops are very bad for peoples with knee problems- in one you have to kneel all the time, in the other you stand on one straight leg. I'm not too kin on slightly "new age" aura about the set and commentary, too.
Update: after one more time my knee gave up, my old injury is back! Avoid if you have knee problems!

This is not a cardio exercise really, but it works you glutes and thighs and believe me it does. Its a killer, the slow controlled movements work but must be regular even if your aching. Some might find it boring but i thought it was easy for me to follow and I'm seeing results.
