Directions:
Instructions for use: Clean the nail and remove any nail polish if present. Use the pen-shaped applicator to coat the whole nail and the underside of the nail rim with the product. Apply generously. Allow the nail to dry (1-2 minutes) before putting on socks and/or shoes. This allows the product to penetrate the nail. Following application, it is quite normal to feel a tingling sensation under the nail; this shows that the product has penetrated the nail. Apply to the infected area twice a day (once in the morning, once in the evening). For a good result, treat the infected area for a minimum of three months. It is best to continue the course of treatment until the nail has recovered completely. Do not press down hard on the applicator when applying the product. Make sure the applicator id fully closed after each treatment to prevent evaporation. The applicator contains approximately 400 applications. Side Effects: Burning sensation, itching, or mild, localized pain. If symptoms persist or worsen, consult your pharmacist or GP. Precautions: For external use only. Do not use if you are hypersensitive or allergic to any of the ingredients. Avoid all contact with eyes and mucous membranes. If the product comes into contact with eyes or mucous membranes, rinse thoroughly with water. No clinical data are available on use of the product by children, or by pregnant or breast-feeding women. What is fungal nail infection?
Fungal nail infection (also known as onychomycosis) refers to infection of the top or finger nails by fungi (dermatophytes). The infection usually starts at the rim of the nail, which turns whitish-yellow, brown or green. The fungus grows under the nail, causing the nail plate to thicken and crumble. Sometimes the nail becomes partially or completely detached, which can be painful. In some cases the nail is lost completely.
How does Excilor treat fungal nail infection?
The most important constituent of toe and finger nails is keratin, which most anti-fungal preparations are unable to penetrate. In most cases fungi grow underneath the nail, which makes it difficult to treat. Excilor controls the micro-environment of the nail by acidifying the nail bed. Excilor is able to penetrate the nail, so the nail is treated from inside out. It usually takes a few months before an affected nail looks completely healthy again. On average, a toenail grows 1.5mm in one month. Excilor immediately lowers the pH of the nail, creating an environment that is hostile to fungal growth. However, the damaged nail needs tome to grow out. The efficacy of Excilor has been proven in clinical trials.

Seriously, this stuff DOES work. If it worked for me, it'll work for anybody that is serious about getting rid. The process/action is so simple that I can't see how it could work for some and not others.I've had it on both big toenails for about 3 years. However it recently spread to a fingernail. It was at this point that I bought Excilor and started applying it to said fingernail. The nail was only newly infected, wasn't too bad, and the problem cleared completely in about 3 weeks. Thus I knew it definitely worked so I began to religiously (and I mean religiously, never missing an application) apply it twice daily (sometimes even 3 times) to both toenails. I'd say I buy one new pen every 5 weeks, approximately, even though the old ones aren't done, just for continuity to make sure I'm getting a generous coverage every time. I'd say it's been about 6 months and both nails are virtually clear. I'd say another month, maybe two before they clear completely. It's a slow process and can feel like it's not working. STICK WITH IT!!! By the time it's cleared completely I'll have spent circa £100, but in truth I'd have gladly spent at least ten times that to get rid of this embarrassing problem. As for the pens themselves, I've noticed you can get 2 different tip types. One is hard, durable and lasts till the pen empties, the other is a different material and doesn't last very long. When purchasing, specify the one with the more durable tip. Ask to open it to check if necessary. Finally, keep the affected nails well clipped. I clipped them down as far as I could and kept them like that. Good luck!

I HAVE BEEN USING THIS PRODUCT NOW FOR A MONTH & IT IS DEFINATELY WORKING, BOTH MY BIG TOEAILS WHERE BROWNISH/BLACK & JUST LOOKED HORRIBLE NOW THEY ARE JUST ABOUT WHITE AGAIN APART FROM A LITTLE BIT ON THE SIDE OF MY NAILS YEA! I WOULD AGREE THAT IT WILL DEFINATELY NOT LAST SIX MONTHS AS I AM ON MY SECOND IN A MONTH THE SORT OF FELT TIP BIT JUST DISINTEGRATED BUT I THINK THAT HAD TO DO WITH THE RIM OF MY NAILS BEING SO RAGGED BUT FELT IT WAS WORTH BUYING ANOTHER AS AFTER A COUPLE OF WEEKS USING IT I COULD SEE A BIG DIFFERENCE I HAD TRIED OTHER PRODUCTS OVER THE YEARS BUT NONE OF THEM WORKED AS GOOD. NOW I WON'T NEED TO HIDE MY TOES ANYMORE.SO PLEASED!!

Total junk product.,

I have(and still have) two badly affected toe nails. I started applying Excilor 6 months ago twice daily without fail, at the same time, over a period of weeks I carefully trimmed both nails back to the 'quick' so there was vertually nothing left of the nails. My thoughts were that this would expose the fungus to the treatment much better. To date, and three Excillors later both nails are probably worse than they were to start with. My GP told me years ago that the only way to correct the problem was by taking anti-fungal tablets such as Grisiofulvin for several months. He explained that the fungus is in the body system and this often radiates out somewhere to the exterior of the body. Therefore treating nails locally won't work.Why don't Amazon turn the first star into say, a red circle or a cross. As it is at present giving a product a thumbs down and therefore giving it a minimum star rating in fact looks as though you are giving a positive rating. Silly really.
