This is useful guide to charting in Excel 2007 which starts with the basics (which have changed a bit with Microsoft having scrapped the Chart Wizard in Excel 2007), and goes on to cover a lot of non-obvious topics such as the use of an extra chart series as a dummy axis. There are some excellent Excel charting websites where you could get much of the advice in the book for free, but even if you're good at making use of such resources, it is still handy having the book with the examples on CD. Because of the changes to charting in Excel 2007, you should only buy this book if it is Excel 2007 that you're using.

Great resource book 17 July 2009
By Stanley R. Jakubczak - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I bought this book to support a college class I was taking. The instructor required us to generate charts using Excel. My experience in Excel was very limited, purchasing this book allowed me to successfully pass my coursework.

What a waste 25 Feb 2012
By James Claiborn - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I bought this book because I am taking a course in applied behavior analysis which involves making lots of charts using Excel. I happen to be using Excel 2007 so it seemed like a good idea. I barely got 3 or 4 pages into the first chapter when I find that the book is telling you to do things but not how they are done. It says it may be useful to do this but not how to do it. If I knew how to do it I would not have bought the book. What a royal waste of my money.Excel 2007 Charts (Mr. Spreadsheet's Bookshelf)
