Fun:
Demolish buildings with various demolition machines you watched as a kid and marvelled at. Even set demolitions and blow buildings up- legally!

Sounds like fun right. It should be, but it isn`t really in this `sim`. The game actually plays quite well and is pretty easy to control after a few runs on each vehicle. You can drive in 3rd and 1st person which is pretty cool too. Everything basically works and is quite realistic.

BUT-

What happened to the immersion aspects? The first disappointment is when you start up your heavy vehicle engine.. It sounds like a lawn mower! Same for every vehicle out there. Where`s the heavy rumble noise of a big- mean- demolishing- machine starting up? Every vehicle sounds the same weedy noise. was it really so hard for the Devs to go OUTSIDE to the nearest building site and record authentic sound samples or even just make up similar beefy engine noises with a bit of bass? I mean most of us are fascinated by the noise of things as a kid and all of us know how noisy these things are in real life as we see it nearly daily.

The sounds of buildings being hammered by the digger hammer is also awful. Again, in reality we know how gutsy these things sound as they break concrete and walls- In game, it`s like a child trying to break an egg with a toothpick.

All sounds are awful. had they made a real effort with authentic noises of crashing down buildings, vehicle engines, etc they would halfway gone to making a good game. really, sound is that important in a `sim` like this when nothing else happens except demolishing things.

There could be more variety in missions and breakable buildings (which is ok if not perfect, physics is iffy, I had a floating brick at one point) and a little more immersion and even danger if you bust a building wrong and it falls on your truck.

Like I said before, the game actually plays quite well and functions as it should with the controls, graphics are not bad, but who the hell approved the sounds? I`d sack him. Really, the lack of good sound effects really blows it... You get bored because it don`t feel satisfying. This is what I call snatching a bad game out of a potential good game.

Maybe there`s a sound mod I can find?

Fun:
Installed comfortably on an aging copy of Windows XP on a dual core. Doesn't need the disc to run, doesn't need the user to be an admin so it's entirely suitable for the 5+ age range. The graphics look OK, the sound is horrible, the price (£13) was moderate, altogether a pretty good purchase.
