Product Description

"It's not me - it's you. You've let yourself go, so I'm letting you go too." When Edward Middleton hears those words from Jane, his girlfriend of the past ten years, he knows he's in serious trouble. Determined to get her back, Edward must learn how to make women fancy him again. But what makes for a good boyfriend nowadays? Right now, he's the kind of man who puts the 'ex' into 'sexy'. One thing is certain: if he's to be Jane's Mr Right, he needs to turn himself into a bit of all right. From Atkins and Botox, Edward begins working his way through the makeover alphabet. But can cuddly Teddy really become sexy Eddie? Can he rise from the ranks of discarded exes? Or has his journey of self-discovery taken him in a different direction entirely?

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful book - a delight to read!, 4 Oct 2006
By hmdnyc (London, England) - See all my reviews
This is a great book that I recommend to all, both male and female readers. It is very witty and so funny that I laughed out loud constantly and yet amidst the comedy are some really tender & poignant bits - the perfect mix. The characters are instantly likeable, you really warm to them from the very first page. I could not put this book down and read it from cover to cover in one sitting. Always the sign of a good book - that you can't wait to finish it only to find yourself disappointed when there is no more to read! I bought this on the strength of the authors first book, Best Man which was also very funny and an enjoyable read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Laugh out loud entertainment, 5 Feb 2007
By Andy Edwards "staxasoul" (Essex UK) - See all my reviews
(TOP 500 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
This is a VERY funny book, which manages, without being too contrived, to say lots about men and the way we view the world. My wife tells me the bits about women are also pretty accurate, so there's much to recommend if you need guidance on the ways of the opposite sex.

Which all sounds very worthy, which is not at all how this book is set up. Through the story of a guy getting his life on track, Matt Dunn creates situations which will be familiar to most of us, piles jokes on top of one liners and leaves you wanting to know how it all turns out for all concerned.

Not great literature, but excellent entertainment

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant!, 28 Nov 2006
This was one of the best books I have ever read! If a book can you make you laugh out loud it's worth more than anything money can buy! What a film this would make as the humour is so visual! Big Ed is in all of us and I for one felt I should follow his example and become fitter, leaner and less complacent.
